I'd consider this a challenge for most of us - but it is only a challenge if you have never thought of habits in a way that requires you to BUILD. The start of this is pretty simple!
How do you choose a habit that sticks?
Choose a habit that you can progress into easily. If you are choosing: "I want to lose weight", I want you to consider how many times you've been saying this to yourself and if anywhere you say that it has been a struggle, maybe it is not the right habit at this time.
Instead, start with the foundation that is called "identity-based habits". I didn't coin this. This was a takeaway from an amazing audiobook I'm listening to: Atomic Habits by James Clear.
Focus on who you want to become, not on what you want to achieve from your habit(s).
The goal is not to get straight A's. The goal is to become the person who achieved that grade and keep the habits and practices used to achieve it!
The goal is not to become an IFBB Pro Bodybuilder. The goal is to become a great bodybuilder who applied the methods and practives into becoming one.
If you want to retire early, you want to become the type of person who is disciplined to save money.
Your habits reshape your identity.
Gradually. Change takes time. That is why they say, all great things take time and consistency. You shouldn't see it at first. You should barely see or feel a difference.
